Great Covers Are Not a Luxury. They’re a Necessity.

The Cover Is NOT ONLY a Billboard for the Book,
But, in a Sense, the First Page of the Story.

It Doesn’t Matter How Good Your Book
If People Have Never Noticed It
A Good Book Cover Is A Necessity
If You Want People To Notice Your Book
And Read The Description For Your Book

This is no exaggeration… The first time I tried to create my own book cover, it looked great on my computer screen, but I could not get Createspace to approve the silly thing…

Initially, I didn’t include enough bleed on the top and bottom. Then, I had my spine title printed inside the bleed-area. I even had written text inside of the bar-code area. Every cover design I submitted had some problem that ensured that Createspace would not accept my book submission.

Because I am fervently hard-headed and committed to figuring things out on my own, I ended up wasting a full three days trying to put together a book cover that Createspace would accept.

I am a smart guy and very technically-skilled, and I still couldn’t figure out how to make an awesome book cover without hiring a professional to do it for me.

Every time Createspace rejected my book cover, it made my head hurt even more…

I don’t know about you, but it really frustrates me when I cannot figure something out…

And the worst part….

I once paid a book cover designer $189 to make me a better book cover than what I had. The sales tanked on that book as soon as I added the more expensive book cover.

If I had to pay someone $189 (or even ten bucks) every time I wanted to publish a new book or test a new cover design, I might just have to publish fewer books. 🙁

The fact is that I did not start self-publishing my books in order to make book cover designers rich… I started self-publishing so I could fill my bank accounts with cold, hard cash…

Accepting my personal limitations is just not a path I am willing to travel…

I had to find a way to do it on my own, and I had to figure it out fast…

I Did What Every Desperate Self-Published Author Does…
I Cheated & Used the Createspace Book Cover Software
To Create Hideous & Extraordinarily Ugly Book Covers

Then I prayed, hoping consumers would still buy my books, even with their dog-ugly book covers…

My books have done reasonably well in the sales department, but many people have written to suggest that my books would probably sell better, if only I put better book covers on them…

And those folks are probably right…

My books sell well, because I have a good reputation with my audience… Not because they have awesome book covers on them…

Yet, I am reasonably sure that more people would buy my books, if only I could design book covers that could grab the reader’s attention…

Like it or not, people do judge our books by our book covers…
Great book covers will get your books noticed…

Ugly book covers will result in your books being ignored by the people who might otherwise want to read them…

Createspace and Amazon Kindle both offer free tools to help us design covers for our books…

The problem is that the Createspace and Amazon Kindle book cover creation tools are very limited in scope, and they are not as flexible as most of us would like them to be.

There has to be a better way to make book covers, right?
Fortunately, there is a better way to make perfect book covers every single time…

Thanks to Di Heuser, we have ferreted out a much better solution for building outstanding book covers…

All You Will Need Is Internet Access,
A Visual Concept & Just 12 Minutes

I told Di about my struggles with creating book covers that resonate with readers…

She responded that she needed to test something for me…

Twelve minutes later, Di sent me a book cover concept that blew my socks off…

She told me that in using this process, we will never again struggle with the process of creating the perfect book cover that Createspace and Amazon will approve immediately.

Once she showed me how it is done, I found a new spring in my step… 🙂

I knew in that moment — I would never again need to rely on Createspace or Amazon to make book covers.

There Would Be:

  • No More Wasted Time, with book submissions that get rejected based on a flawed book cover;
  • No More Embarrassment about book covers;
  • No More Ugly Book Covers;
  • No More Excuses about why our book covers are plain ugly;
  • No More Big Payments to book cover designers;
  • No More Hesitation about testing new book covers;
  • No More Irritation about an over-complicated process;
  • No More Complaints about how much Createspace and Amazon are letting us down with their painfully-useless book cover creation tools…
  • No More Self-Doubt about the book covers we make for our books;
Introducing Di Heuser’s
“Book Cover Super Hero”

This training is delivered in four (4) videos,
with a total running time of 37 minutes.

Stop Scaring Away Your Future Customers
With Ugly & Unattractive Book Covers

Unless you can get the public’s attention,
your book simply does not exist.
The primary role of your book cover is to get the attention that your book deserves.

Without a good book cover, your book only has a title page. If the title doesn’t convey to the consumer everything someone needs to know to understand why they should want to read more about your book, then you need that extra attention that a good book cover can give you.

An Effective Book Cover Could…

  • Let People Know Visually What Genre Your Book Serves;
  • Display Images that Are Related Your Book or Story;
  • Convey The Mood Of The Story (fun, sad, scary, dark, etc.);
  • Tease Your Story Line;
  • Grab People’s Imagination;
  • Introduce the Conflict in Your Story;
  • Demonstrate the Amount of Professionalism You Bring To Your Writing;
  • Convince Reader’s to Look More Closely at Your Book;
  • Make a Significant Positive Impact on Your Book’s Sales…
To Get The Attention Our Books Deserve,
We Must Force People to Stop Scrolling

If you ask ordinary people questions about what they buy and why, you will often hear them say, “I don’t know what I am looking for, but I will know when I see it.

Think about that for a second…

I don’t know what I am looking for,
but I will know when I see it.
This is the real power of a good book cover…

It convinces consumers that they might like the book they are looking at…

An effective book cover convinces people to stop scrolling and pay closer attention to the details…

Consider the original book cover for
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone“,
published by Scholastic for the American market in 1998.
This original book cover let you know in advance that it was made for teenagers, and that it contained a magical tale of witches, supernatural beings, castles and pure fantasy.

If you are a fan of Harry Potter, you must ask yourself just one question…

If you knew nothing about the Harry Potter books, would this book cover capture your attention strongly enough to get you to look more closely at the book?

If the answer is yes, the book cover chosen will have done its job well…
